Brian Christopher O'Halloran (born December 20, 1969) is an American actor, producer, and podcaster best known for playing Dante Hicks in Kevin Smith's 1994 debut film Clerks and its sequels, Clerks II (2006) and Clerks III (2022). He has also appeared in most of Smith's View Askewniverse films, either as Dante or as one of Dante’s many cousins.
O'Halloran’s first film role was Dante Hicks in Clerks (1994), and he has returned many times as members of the Hicks family throughout Smith’s films. He starred in the 2000 film Vulgar as a small-town clown who is traumatized after being attacked during a performance, a role written specifically for him by writer-director Bryan Johnson.
He has been involved in theatre since high school and has spoken about the value of stage acting, saying that performing in front of a live audience is the best training an actor can receive, sharpening reflexes, interaction, and memory.
Since Clerks, O'Halloran has continued to work extensively in theatre, collaborating with companies such as The Boomerang Theatre Company, The New Jersey Repertory Company, and The Tri-State Actors Theatre. In 2020, he launched his own pop culture podcast, The O’HalloRant, on YouTube.
In 2025, O'Halloran appeared as a contestant on the American version of The Floor on FOX. He was eliminated in the first duel of the semifinal episode but won $110,000 for holding the most floor area across episodes 2 through 6.
